Hall County Sheriff's Department Investigates Vehicle Theft

On December 23, 2025, at approximately 10:52 a.m. a Hall County Sheriffs deputy located a
reported stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Git "N Split convenience store at 8976 Alda Road
South in Wood River.

‘When the deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled the parking lot. A pursuit
ensued and was subsequently taken over by the Nebraska State Patrol. The vehicle, a 2011 black.
Kia Sorento, had been reported stolen earlier that morning out of Grand Island, Nebraska. The
vehicle was not located.

‘The Hall County Sheriff's Office is conducting a follow-up investigation to identify the driver of
the stolen vehicle. No arrests have been made at this time.

No injuries were reported, and no property damage occurred during the incident.

‘The Hall County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol. The investigation
remains ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
